It is with great sadness to announce the passing of our loved
one, Ida Marie (Dykens) Lowe on July 11,
2014 after a strong fight with cancer at the Cumberland Regional
Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, NS. Born in Williamsdale,
NS, on February 4, 1934, she was the daughter of William James and
Christina Dykens.
Ida enjoyed her husband and
family and camping at the Glooscap Campground in Parrsboro. She also
enjoyed 4H Club, cooking, knitting and bluegrass music.
Ida will be sadly missed by her husband of 64 years,
Corey, and her children Larry (Marjorie) Lowe, Tidnish, Coreen (Tommy)
Dawson, Tidnish, Glenda (David) Triff, Halifax, and Kevin Lowe,
Niagara Falls; her sister Kay (Ted) Horne, Warren MI, USA; loved by
her sisters-in-law, Eileen Lowe, Mabel (Courtney) MacLeod, and Joyce
(Roy) Landry. Nanie will be sadly missed by her ten
grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. Ida was a
very special friend to Peter, Niagara Falls, Jennifer, Kingston, ON,
and Tony, Sherbrooke, PQ. Auntie will be missed by several
nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Ida
was predeceased by her in-laws, Richard and Alice (McKay) Lowe;
brothers Donald and Bobby; her loving brother-in-law, Harley Lowe and
sister-in-law, Shirley Lowe; her sweet grandson, Nicolas Triff and
loving niece and nephews, Wayne and Kim MacLeod and Darrell
Dykens.
As per Ida's wishes, cremation has
taken place. A graveside service for family and friends be
held at the Amherst Head Cemetery, Beecham Road, Amherst Head, NS on
Sunday, July 13, 2014 at 3 pm. William Drysdale DLM
officiating.
Those wishing to make a donation
in Ida's memory may do so to the Canadian Cancer Society or the
Diabetes Society.
