Margaret Mae Stultz- "Bamb," aged 97 passed away
Saturday, September 14th, 2013 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care
Center. Born in Tidnish, she was a daughter of the late Renwick and
Minnie (Brownell) Bugley.
During
WWII Marg worked at Canada Car in Amherst, was a homemaker and later
looked after children in her home. She was a member of the Royal
Canadian Legion and the Air Force Club for many years and still
enjoyed attending the dances and levies well into her nineties, an
example of her life-long love of music and dancing. Born into a
musical family, Marg loved to play the fiddle, winning many Nova
Scotia fiddle championships in her younger years. She also had a gift
for playing the piano, able to play any piece of music by ear. Marg
played music with Carl Stultz and His Orchestra for many years all
over the Maritimes at dances and on the radio. Dancing was also one of
her many passions, she taught tap dance lessons and never missed an
opportunity to kick up her heels. As she would say, Marg "would
rather dance than eat."
An
active woman who loved the outdoors, she spent many happy hours
fishing and camping all over Nova Scotia, especially at Isaac Lake.
Marg enjoyed playing cards, having a drink with friends and sharing a
laugh. She will be remembered for her exceptional sense of humour; she
always had a funny joke, saying or poem to share. She will always be
remembered as a vibrant, feisty, one-of-a-kind character, who made a
lasting impression on everyone that she met.
Always a loving daughter, sister, aunt,
mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. "Bamb" worshiped
and was worshiped by everyone in her family. She enjoyed baking,
"her own cooking" and spending time with her family. Bamb
had her mind all 97 years and she spoke it, and we loved her for it.
Her family is blessed to have spent so many special years with such an
exceptional person.
Bamb will be
greatly missed by son, Barry (Margaret) Burke, Tidnish NS, daughter,
Robin (Stephen) Fage, Amherst NS; five grandchildren Tim (Patti),
Bernie (Allison), Christina (Brian), Stephanie (Danny) and Elliott
(Jill); three great grandchildren, Brandon, Brody, MaKayla;
brother-in-law Lenny Lowther, Tidnish NS, as well as many dear nieces
