Dunlop   It is with heavy hearts we sadly announce the passing of our dear brother, Stanley Michael Dunlop, 74, of Maccan at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre on Thursday, September 20, 2012.

Born in Maccan he was a son of the late Cecil and Effie (Collins) Dunlop.

Mike was employed at Costin Paving for 36 years.  A former member of the Maccan United Church he was an avid sportsman and was catcher for the Maccan Royals for many years.

He is survived by 9 sisters, Mary, Maccan, NS, Judy Fawcett, Sackville, NB, Diane and Mel Willis, Middleton, NS, Valerie and Doug Atkins, Brookdale, Karen and Peter DeLong, Fredericton, NB, Lillian Farrell, Springhill, NS, Rhoda and Ron Bugley, Tidnish, NS, Irene McCormick, Woodstock, NB, Kathy and Ron Boozan, Amherst, NS; 2 brothers, Kenny , Maccan, NS and Ernest and Mary, West Amherst, NS.  Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, a special niece Tasha (Keith) Trueman, Truemanville, NS and special great - niece Etta Trueman.  We want to show great appreciation to niece Carol Fawcett, Sackville, NB who helped ease Mike's pain in his hour of need.

He was predeceased by his brother Charles in 2011

Mike's remains have been entrusted into the care of the Furlong Jones Funeral Home, (667-8777), Amherst from where a time of visitation will be held on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.  Funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Wayne McCarther on Sunday, September 23, 2012 at 2:30 pm at the funeral home.  Burial in the Maccan Cemetery.  Donations to the Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or charity of the donor's choice gratefully accepted.
