It is with deep sadness we announce the unexpected passing of Trevor Winslow Sears, age 66, of Amherst, NS. Trevor passed away at home on Wednesday, July 22, 2026.

Born in Amherst, NS, he was a son of Joan (Thompson) Sears of Amherst and the late James Sears. 

Trevor always looked forward to time in the woods fishing.  He enjoyed playing his guitar, taking long drives in the country, and playing the odd computer game.  

Trevor will be dearly missed by his daughter Ashley Stpeter; mother Joan Sears and sister Deborah (David) Clarke, as well as his Aunt Jocelyn Wheeler;  nieces Melissa Anderson, Michelle Anderson,  Maegan (Tyler) Lannan-McLeod and Jennifer (Brodie) Duguay; nephews James (Laura) Duguay and Marcus (Hannah) Gogan; great nephews Ryder, Price, Nash, Oliver, Beau, Grayden, and Walker; cousins James Wheeler and Jonathan Wheeler and his honorary niece Leighanne Stewart.  

He was predeceased by his father James Sears; sister Pamela Angevine and his Uncle Jack Wheeler.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Jones Family Funeral Centre, at 70 Church Street, Amherst, NS, (902) 667-8777.  Trevor will be laid to rest with his grandparents in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Oxford, NS, at a public graveside service at 11 AM on Friday, July 31, 2026.

Donations in memory of Trevor may be made to the Canadian Red Cross Society.
