It is with deep sadness we announce the
passing of Beverly Dale Veinot, age 88,
of Amherst, NS. Beverly passed away peacefully on Monday, July 13,
2026 at Northumberland Hall surrounded by her
family.
Born in Parrsboro, NS, she was the
daughter of the late Axel and Lavonah (Donnelly) Yorke.
Beverly was a long time quilter with
Quilter Expressions. She
loved to bowl and got a 300! She
played guitar and was in a ukulele group in Sackville. In
her younger years, she enjoyed her motorcycle and time on the ski-doo.
A Toronto Bluejays fan, she watched many a game on television. She was
a member of the Christ Church and St. Monica's Guild. She was a school
teacher for over 30 years, many of those years spent at River Hebert
Elementary School. Teaching was more then a profession, it was a
calling and the lives she touched stand as a lasting testament to her
compassion and dedication.
Beverly will be dearly missed by her
children Melanie (Bill) Wolfe, Amherst, NS and Tim (Karen) Veinot,
Dartmouth, NS; their father Robert "Bob" Veinot. She
will also be greatly missed by grandchildren, Turner (Lindsay) Wolfe,
Wilmot, NS, and Hannah Veinot (CJ) and Benjamin Veinot (Jessie) all of
Darmouth, NS, as well as great grandchildren Anderson and Makenna
Wolfe, Wilmot, NS. Beverly will also be missed by brothers Carroll
"Crow" (Jackie) Yorke, Greenwood, NS and Gary Yorke, Dutton,
Ontario, and sister in law's Louise Yorke and Linda Fulton (Yorke),
and special niece Lavonah Madden, Malignant Cove, NS; special
companion and friend Doug Allen, as well as many nieces, nephews and
school family. She will also be missed by special friends; Rita
Linney, Brenda Melanson, Beryl Glover, and her Hand and Foot buddies
Gail and Dennis Morrissey and her travel buddies Donna and Tim Ripley
and many other friends.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased
by sister Sylvia (Joe)Muloin, brothers Floden, Pat, Ricky, Lawrence
and Gregory Charles (in infancy), as well as special friends Beverly
Clarke and Eleanor Fromm and her furry friends Starr and
Tiny.
Arrangements are under the care and
supervision of the Jones Family Funeral
Centre, 70 Church Street, Amherst, NS (902-667-8777)
where visiting hours will take place on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 from
noon until 2 pm, followed immediately at 2 pm by her funeral service,
Rev. Charlotte Ross officiating. Burial will take place in the
Parrsboro United Baptist Cemetery.
