It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Clyde Ernest Worden, lovingly known as "Woody," who passed away peacefully with family by his side on June 11, 2026, at the QEII Health Sciences Centre in Halifax, NS.
Born in Moncton, New Brunswick in 1947, he was the son of the late Clifford and Vivian (Rooney) Worden.
He will be remembered for his strong will and determination, his remarkable ability to strike up a conversation with just about anyone he met, and the genuine connections he made throughout his life.
Woody is survived by his beloved wife, Marcia, and their children, Cliff (Twilah) Fillmore and Michelle (Kevin) Bohaychuk; and his cherished granddaughters, Abigail and Mya. He is also survived by his boys, Scott and Bruce (Debbie) Worden, as well as Bruce and Debbie’s daughter, Starlynne. He leaves behind his sister, Karen Bevan and her late husband, Noel; his brother, Cliff (Sheila) Worden; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Woody spent much of his working life building a career he took great pride in with Auto Haulaway and later, Allied Systems. He was entrusted with the safe transport of vehicles throughout the region, delivering countless automobiles from ports and dealerships to their destinations. Known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and unwavering commitment, he took pride in a job well done and in the many relationships he built along the way. He will be fondly remembered for his playful sense of humour and lighthearted teasing, always done lovingly to bring laughter, joy and connection to those around him.
Above all else, Woody’s greatest joy was his family. He shared many years with his beloved wife, Marcia, and took immense pride in the lives of his children, grandchildren, and the close friends he held dear. Some of his happiest moments were spent with his granddaughters, Abigail and Mya, whom he lovingly referred to as his "love bugs" and, in his playful way, often calling them his "bugs." Their adventures, accomplishments, and time together brought him endless pride and happiness.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Family Funeral Centre, 70 Church St, Amherst, NS (902-667-8777). In keeping with his wishes, there will be no formal funeral service.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the physicians, nurses, and staff of the ICU 5.1 at the QEII Health Sciences Centre for the exceptional care, compassion, and dignity extended during his final days. The kindness and support of the nursing staff in particular will never be forgotten.
Those wishing to honour his memory are invited to do so through acts of kindness or by making a donation to a charity of their choice.
