Christopher Leggett, 41, passed away on April 13, 2026 in Amherst Nova Scotia. Though his life was taken far too soon by a senseless act of violence, his family and friends choose to remember the man he truly was: a person with a profoundly big heart and a spirit that resonated with everyone who took the time to know him.

Born in Amherst, NS, he was the son of Robert (Tina) Leggett and Deborah (Barry Wry) Leggett. 

Chris was a man who left lasting impressions. Known by many, he had a unique way of touching the lives of those he encountered, leaving behind memories that his friends and community will carry forward. While he may have appeared one way to the world, those close to him knew the depth of his kindness and the sincerity of his character.

The pride and joy of Chris’s life was his son, Christopher Pye. Being his father was a central part of his identity, and his legacy of strength and heart will live on through his namesake.

Besides his son and parents, he is also survived by his sisters Laura Leggett, Tina (Derek) Smith and Stephanie (Nathan) Milligan. He will also be missed by his nieces and nephews, Gavin, Avery, Owen, Willow, Chloe and Theo. 

Chris will be remembered for the impressions he made, the laughs he shared, and the quiet kindness he offered. He leaves behind a community of people better for having known him.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Jones Family Funeral Centre, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS.  Cremation has taken place.  There will be no visitation or service.
