It is with deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of Nadine Gilbert, age 79, of Amherst, NS.  Nadine passed away at her home in Cape Tormentine on Friday, September 19, 2025 with her husband by her side.

Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of Jean (Arseneault) Stanley and the late Albert Stanley.

Nadine was a very caring and fun loving lady who devoted her time to her husband and her family.  She worked for many years at K-Mart in Amherst and enjoyed all her co-workers.  She loved hunting for glass on the beach, going for drives with her husband, playing cards with her friends and family, spending time with her grand kids, playing bingo, and sharing her opinion.

In addition to her mother, she will be dearly missed by her husband of 60 years, Stephen, Cape Tormentine, Tony (Elizabeth "Biz"), Athol, NS; special son-in-law Mike (Janet Porter) Brine, Brookdale, NS; grandchildren, Katlyn (Steve) Arnoldin, Mikey (Sydney) Brine, Josh (Krystine) Hooton, Wesley (Krista) Brine; great grandkids Taqran and Thia; siblings Richard, Glen, Randy and Annie.

She was predeceased by her father, her daughters Holly Gilbert and Sam Gilbert; sister Melinda Berry.

Arrangements are under the care and supervision of Jones Family Funeral Centre, 70 Church Street, Amherst, NS (902-667-8777), where a family gathering was held, followed by cremation.  She will be interred in the Athol Cemetery at a later date.  

Donations in Nadine's memory may be made to the Asthma Society, or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
