It is with profound sadness that we
announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother, adored grandmother
and great grandmother Madeleine Vautour
on October 25th, 2024 at the age of 100 years. Born in Leger
Brook, NB, she was a daughter of the late Dina (Fagan) and Tilman
Leger.
Madeleine is survived by her devoted
children, Marina (Barry), Jean (Barb Oke), Linda (David), Annette
(Jim), Theresa (Kevin), Michelle (Tyler), and daughter in law Inez;
siblings, Andrea, Aris, Edgar (Jolene), and sister-in-law,
Doreen.
Madeleine is predeceased by her loving
husband, Aime Vautour (January 29, 1998); son, Ron Vautour (January
26, 2024), as well as 9 siblings, Laura, Irene, Ulric, Regis, Suzanne,
Eva, Matt, Francis, and Marc. She was a woman of faith and community,
dedicated lifetime CWL member at Saint Charles Parish (Holy Family
Church) and an avid knitter until her passing. Proud grandmother of
Ron Jr., Jackie, Jan, Jeff, Adam, Emily, Bart, Kevin, Daniel, Sarah,
Mark, Kristen, Jill, Erin, Isaac, Seth, and Madeleine-Claire, as well
as 24 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Madeleine's spirit and character
naturally endeared her to everyone she met with a smile and demeanour
that warmed their heart. She loved her family fiercely and welcomed
each new grandchild with endless delight.
"The kindest human being we have
ever known."
