It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy Laraine Brander of Wallace Bridge. Dorothy passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024 at the Colchester East Hants Health Care Centre in Truro.

She was a daughter of the late Ernest and Gladys (Burbine) O'Brien.

She will be dearly missed by her partner Richard Kennedy of more than 40 years; son Bruce Brown (Darlene Richard); daughter Debi (Doug) Whalen; granddaughter Lilly (Marcus) Pine; grandsons Darren and Nathan (Shelly); great-grandchildren Blake and Gavin; sister Shirley Dwyer; brother Ernest "Sankie" O'Brien; special cousin Lorna as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Robert "Bob", Frank "Ping" and Doug; and sister Ruth "Tudie"  Dwyer.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones Family Funeral Centre, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777) where a visitation will take place Friday, August 30th, 2024 from 11 AM to 1 PM followed immediately by a funeral service.

Those wishing to make a donation in Dorothy's memory may do so to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or charity of choice.
