It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Doris Lorraine "Windy" White, age 88, of Amherst, NS. Doris passed away peacefully on Friday, July 19, 2024 at the North Cumberland Health Care Centre in Pugwash.

Born in River Hebert, NS, she was a daughter of the late Harris and Helen (Melanson) O'Brien.

Doris will be sadly missed by two sons, Mark (Kerry) White, PEI and Jeff White of Amherst; daughter Rose Leroux of Halifax and four grandchildren, Dwayne Edwards, Danielle White, Amanda McClary and Amber (Steve) McKay; four great grandsons, Mark, Cody, Drake, Cameron; a step great granddaughter Selana; two sisters, Joyce and Deb; many nieces and nephews; many good friends and especially her good friends and neighbours David Dickie, Elaine, Clayton and Ed.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by daughters Wilma White and Valerie Smiley; a granddaughter, Tina McClary; four brothers, George, Jimmy, Harris Jr, and John, and four sisters, Inez, Mary, Ann, and Barb.

Arrangements are under the care and supervision of the Jones Family Funeral Centre, 70 Church Street, Amherst, NS (902-667-8777) where we will gather for an afternoon of remembrance on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 from 2-4 pm.

Donations in memory of Doris may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
