It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Michael "Mike" Kenneth Herbert Gibson, age 69, of Amherst.  Mike passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre.

Born in Amherst, he was a son of the late Donald  "Don" and Bernice "Bunny" (Halfkenny) Gibson.

Mike (AKA "Snake") was a long time resident of Amherst. He was known by many and always had a smile and a great big wave to all who passed the house on Church Street. Mike was a good natured guy who enjoyed life and was loved and appreciated by everyone who knew him. Mike made friends with everyone and was always known as the life of the party.

He will be dearly missed by his siblings Donna Gibson, Amherst, Stephen, Amherst, Barry (Lisa), Amherst, Kevin (Sue), Ottawa, Vernon, Amherst, and Craig (Nia), Ottawa; as well as his nieces and  nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his infant brother Blaine.

Arrangements are under the care and supervision of the Jones Family Funeral Centre, 70 Church Street, Amherst, NS (902-667-8777). There will be a celebration of life for Mike on Saturday, April 27th between 2 and 4 p.m. at Jones Family Funeral Centre. This will be an informal gathering where everyone will be able to share their photos, thoughts and stories about Mike.
