touched the lives of many people along the way.

Doug, Ronald, and Lawrence (Boobie).
After a successful career with the Bank
of Nova Scotia, Gerry transitioned to executive leadership positions
with Northern Telecom, SCL Technologies, Prime Tech, and Celestica,
all in Amherst.
His steadfast dedication to his work and
unwavering belief in his employees continued until his retirement. Our
heart aches, but we hold dear the memories and lessons he shared with
us.
Gerry was a person who left a positive
impression on many people. His love for family, community, church and
sports was unmatched. He was a lifelong member and active volunteer
with St. Charles Roman Catholic Church and Holy Family Church. He
served in numerous leadership roles for the Amherst area, including
past president of United Way Amherst, YMCA board, and Cumberland
Regional Economic Development Authority.
His passion for volunteering was most
evident in his commitment to youth sports. During the winter months he
served as a coach and manager with various Amherst Minor Hockey teams.
For over 50 years, he relished his summer months where he coached,
umpired, and served on the executive of Amherst Little League
Baseball. For his tireless efforts and dedication to volunteering in
his community, he was recognized with both the Lieutenant Governor's
Provincial Volunteer of the Year Award and the Paul Harris Fellowship
Award from the Amherst Rotary Club.
As Gerry's health declined, his family
was grateful for the caring staff of Cumberland Regional Health Care
