It is with great sadness that we the family announce the unexpected passing of Judy Anne Milner, age 73, of Brookdale, NS. Judy passed away at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre on Monday, November 6, 2023.

Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of the late George "Jud" and Viola (Weatherbee) Dobson.

Judy loved her family, especially her grandsons, her pride and joy.  She loved going out to eat with family and friends, and found great joy in giving her husband Kenny a hard time.  She was a Disney World fanatic, and was always trying to recruit travel companions.  Her laugh was instantly contagious, and you could hear her before you could see her.  Judy was never shy to share her opinion whether it was solicited or not.

Children in need had a special place in her heart, leading her to volunteer with the "After The Bell" program, "Christmas Cheer" and she was a big supporter of "Christmas for Kids".  Judy was very active in the Brookdale community, including the Brookdale United Church Choir, the Sunday School, the community hall, and the sewing circle.  She was a beloved 4H Leader with Three Way and Double D.  She attended the 50+ club in Amherst.  In her later years she became an active member of the First Baptist Church in Amherst, their choir and Chaired the Christmas Tea Committee.

She loved all holidays and was known for her impressive collection of Christmas sweaters and snowmen.  She enjoyed crocheting, crafting, shopping and watching hallmark movies.

Judy worked for MT&T as a telephone operator leaving to start her family with Kenny and look after their home.  In 1992 she opened "Ewe Craft It" from their home.

Judy is survived by her husband of 53 years, Kenneth Milner, Brookdale; daughters Michelle (Jeff) Corkum and Terri (Scott) McKillop, both of Amherst; grandsons; Brandon McKillop (Emma) and Dylan Corkum (Maya); as well as several nephews and nieces.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by infant daughter Karen Viola Milner; sister Gladys (Gerald) Shay; and special aunt Effie Dobson.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Family Funeral Centre, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777) where Judy was cremated. An evening of Remembrance will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023 from 6 to 8 pm with special words shared at 7:30 pm.

For those who wish to do so, donations in Judy's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Cumberland VON, or a charity close to your own heart.

Sharing of memories and condolences may be sent to the family by visiting the online memorial at www.jonesfamilyfuneralcentre.ca or through the Jones Family Funeral Centre Facebook Page.
