It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Allan Stewart Glover, 81, of Amherst, on Tuesday February 23, 2023 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, with his loving family by his side.

Born in Moncton, NB, he was the son of the late Fred and Mae (Forrest) Glover.

Raised in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Allan attended Lunenburg Academy, King’s-Edgehill School and the University of New Brunswick where he obtained his degree in Engineering.  Upon graduation he moved to Edmonton, Alberta where he worked for the Department of Environment. He later joined Ducks Unlimited in Alberta and then transferred to Amherst, Nova Scotia to be closer to family.  He spent 23 years with Ducks Unlimited holding a number of different positions and traveling extensively throughout the Maritimes.

Allan was a generous man, donating his time to the United Way, Ducks Unlimited Amherst and Wallace Committee, Tim Hortons Golf Tournament, Fundy Winds Society and King’s-Edgehill Board of Governors.

Allan was very social and loved his Maritime Heritage.  Hosting visitors from other provinces and countries, Allan and Beryl would invite them into their home for a homemade seafood dinner, often consisting of steamed lobster.

Allan had two passions in his life – fishing and football. He was a great cook and enjoyed sharing his creations with his many friends and neighbours.

He cherished his Friday rum and coke with friends who he considered his extended family. Most Saturdays, he could be found at a local tavern having lunch with the group he lovingly referred to as the ‘Bad Boys’.

Allan will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 45 years, Beryl, children Kenneth (Tatiana) Glover, Marnie (David) Kaplan and Kimberly (Ross) Fichtner and grandsons Sasha, Ethan and Evan.

His family would like to say a special thank you to the medical staff at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Jones Family Funeral Centre, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS, (902-667-8777), where cremation has taken place.

Donations in memory of Allan may be made to Ducks Unlimited, Amherst Foodbank or a charity of your choice.

Sharing of memories and condolences may be sent to the family by visiting the online memorial at www.jonesfamilyfuneralcentre.ca or through the Jones Family Funeral Centre Facebook Page.
