It is with sadness we announce the passing of Sidney Joseph Melanson, age 81 of Joggins. Sidney passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre.  

Born in River Hebert, he was a son of the late Sidney "Sunshine" and Agnes (Edwards) Melanson.

Sidney was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Helen (Jones); daughter Sandra (Darren) Anderson; grandchildren Jessica, Cole, Owen, Daniel and Marissa; great grandchildren Addison and Tara; siblings Doris, Joan, Gloria, Janice, Brenda, and Bruce and their families.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by his son Paul and brothers Jackie and Clifford.

Arrangements are under the care and supervision of the Jones Family Funeral Centre, 70 Church Street, Amherst (902-667-8777).  Honouring Sidney's wishes, cremation has taken place and there is no visitation or service.

Donations in memory of Sidney may be made to the CRHCC Palliative Care, or the Cumberland County Hospice.
