It is with great sadness we announce the
passing of Philip Smith Pedersen, age70,
of Upper Nappan. Philip passed away at the Northumberland Hall in
Amherst on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 after a long struggle with
Alzheimer's Disease.
Born in Amherst, NS, he was a son of the
late Erik and Leona (Bacon) Pedersen.
He attended NSAC and worked on the
family farm with his brother, Larry, for many years. Philip took great
pride in agriculture and served on many boards and committees over the
years. He was also involved in snow removal for the local malls for
over 40 years. He was a member of Trinity St. Stephen's United Church.
Philip enjoyed the outdoors; camping, motorcycling, skiing and
especially team cattle penning.
Time with his family and friends was
important to him. He loved his family and was extremely proud of his
children.
Philip will be dearly missed by his wife
of 29 years, Paula (Gould); son Murray (Heather); daughters Melanie
and Ellen Williams (Reagan Seidler); sister Linda (Charles) Austin;
brother Larry (Janet); his very special grandson, Noah, who he dearly
loved as well many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are under the care and
direction of Jones Family Funeral Centre,
Amherst, NS, (902 667 8777) where a memorial service will take place
Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 1pm with Rev. Susan Gamblin
officiating.
Donations in memory of Philip may be
made to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada, Local 4-H clubs or charity
of choice.
