It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Jennie Geneva Embree, age 98, of Chapman Settlement, NS.  Jennie passed away at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre on Friday, November 4, 2022.

Born in Beecham Settlement, NS, she was a daughter of the late Marshall and Flora (Chapman) Weeks.

Jennie was a member of the Lorneville United Church, a former member of the Chapman Settlement United Church Women, and when she resided in Tidnish she was an active member of the Tidnish Church, attending Sunday School and participating as a member of the choir. She and her husband were also members of the Cumberland Antique Car Club.  Jennie enjoyed family gatherings.

She will be dearly missed by her sons, James (Edna) and Ralph (Sally) both of Chapman Settlement, NS, Larry (Linda) of Tidnish Bridge, NS; foster son Bob Trenchard, Chapman Settlement, NS; sister Gladys (Albert) Greeno, Amherst; brother in law Wallace Greeno, Springhill, NS;  eight grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her loving husband Fred Embree; daughter Gloria (Lloyd) Goodwin; sisters Alice (Harold) Stewart, Marjorie Greeno, and Margaret (Herbert) Lowther;  brother, Albert Weeks and brother in law Herbert Lowther. 

Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the Jones Family Funeral Centre, 70 Church Street, Amherst, NS (902-667-8777) where visitation will take place on Wednesday from 11 am until 1 pm, followed immediately at 1 pm by her funeral service, Ruth Gamble, DLM officiating.  Internment will take place in the Baxter Cemetery beside her husband.
