It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Elma Viva Greeno, age 100, of Tidnish, NS. Elma passed away on Friday October 28th, 2022 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre.

Born in Linden, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Mitchell) Greeno.

Elma attended rural schools in Cumberland County then to N.S Teacher's College in Truro and taught school for 3 years.

She was a member of the Renwick United Church and a past member of Flyway Campers, NCHA.

She and her husband, Curry, owned and operated Greeno's General Store at Tidnish Crossroads for 30 years, retiring in 1974.

Elma will be sadly missed by her son, David of Tidnish, NS and daughter Dianne (Karl) Mills, Amherst, NS; two grandchildren Adam (Melissa) Mills and Shannon (Tyrell) Langille; step-grandchildren Tina (Bill) Warren and Todd (Julie Higdon) LeBlanc; five great grandchildren Kennedy, Kolby & Avery Mills and Arisa & Soren Langille; several step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her loving husband, Curry in 2006, sisters Laura, Beryl, Eileen and Doreen; brothers, Norman and Kenneth Greeno; daughter-in-law Mary Lou LeBlanc-Greeno.

Elma and Doreen were best of friends and loved to travel together as in life and death, traveling to their final destination 4 days apart.

David and Dianne would like to thank Gail Buchanan, Wendy Baumann, all the VON who helped keep mom in her own home until the end, Amy Thurston and Dr. Fainshtein and all the nurses of the medical/surgical unit for your kindness.

Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the Jones Family Funeral Centre, 70 Church Street, Amherst, NS (902-667-8777) where visitation will take place on Wednesday November 2, 2022 from 11 am until 2 pm followed by a funeral service with Rev. Ruth Gamble officiating. Internment will take place in the Lorneville Church Cemetery beside her husband.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Elma can be made to the Lorneville Cemetery or the VON Amherst Branch.
