It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Donald Morgan Hunter, 76 , of Amherst formerly of Oxford and Springhill. Morgan passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital in Moncton, NB with his loving family by his side.

Born in Springhill, NS, he was a son of the late George and Allison (Macdonald) Hunter.

Morgan loved spending time with his family and friends, especially "The Group", napping with his puppies, and enjoying the loons and view from the trailer at the lake. Morgan loved to entertain and never missed a chance to celebrate with a cheers. Morgan touched the lives of many people during his 32 years as a teacher and Principal in Springhill. 

Morgan will be dearly missed by his wife of 52 years Faye (Thompson); children Tim (Stacy) Hunter of Amherst; Kandace (Mike) Crosby of Petawawa, Ontario; grandchildren Chloe, Connor, Hayleigh and Ky; sister Lois (Dan) Poitras of Springhill; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his parents in-law, Seldon and Wilma Thompson of Springhill.  

Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Jones Family Funeral Centre, 70 Church St., Amherst, (902 667 8777). Following Morgan's wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will take place on Sunday, July 31, 2022 from 1pm-3pm at the Amherst Golf Club, 487 John Black Road, Amherst.

Donations in memory of Morgan may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or the Intensive Care Unit of the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre.
