Lester (Brother John) Cormier, age 89, of Amherst passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Colchester East Hants Health Care Centre, Truro, NS.

Born in Joggins, NS, he was a son of the late Albert and Kathleen (Brine) Cormier.He is survived by his daughters, Roseanne Cormier, Port Credit, ON, Lucille Richards, Truemanville, NS and Brenda Lee Bellis of Tottenham, ON; son Michael Cormier, Ontario; sister, Freda Jewers, Antigonish; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Predeceased by daughter Lisa Cormier; brother Charlie, Alfie, Amos, Joseph, Robert, and Basil; sister Agnes Legere and Helen Mills as well as a sister in infancy.

Arrangements are under the care and supervision of Jones Family Funeral Centre, 70 Church Street, Amherst (902-667-8777) where visiting hours will take place on Monday, June 27, 2022 from 1 pm until 2 pm, followed immediately at 2 pm by Funeral Mass, performed by Father Pierre Roy.  Burial will follow in the St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery, Joggins, NS.
