It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Odette Theresa Martin, 67, of Amherst. Odette passed away Monday, May 23th, 2022 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre.

Born in Ste. Tite, PQ, Odette was the daughter of the late Jean-Claude and  Marie-Paule (Francoeur) Sicard, moving to Amherst at the age of 8.

Odette was a Jill of all trades. She always had a project on the go such as: baking, sewing, crafting, painting, camping, organizing tournaments and volunteering in the community. But most of all her favorite thing was spending time with family. She always enjoyed reading, puzzles and games of any sort. She was always a second mom to all of her daughter's friends and would drop everything to help anyone in need.

Odette will be dearly missed by her husband Clayton, Amherst; daughters Stephanie (Seth) Herrett, Amherst and Natasha (Matthew) Richard, Amherst; grandchildren Ethan & Alexander Herrett and Nadya (Jason Morse) Richard, Mackenzie (Paige Everill) Richard & Rory Richard; great grandchildren Natalya and Gabriella; as well as several nieces and nephews.  Mom will forever be in our hearts.

She was predeceased by her sister Michelle Steeves.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones Family Funeral Centre, 70 Church St, Amherst, NS (902-667-8777) where an Afternoon of Remembrance will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 2 until 4 pm.  Special words and memories will be shared at 3:30 pm. Burial will take place in the Saint Charles-Nativity Cemetery at a later date.

Donations in memory of Odette may be made to the charity of your choice.

Sharing of memories and condolences may be sent to the family by visiting the online memorial at www.jonesfamilyfuneralcentre.ca or through the Jones Family Funeral Centre Facebook Page.
