It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne Douglas Duffy, 70, of Amherst, NS. Wayne passed away on Wednesday April 27, 2022 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre with family holding his hand.

Born in Amherst, NS, he was a son of the late Chalmer "Chum" and Minnie (Landry) Duffy.

Wayne worked 51 years serving the public at Duffy's Esso. He loved all his customers, the only thing he loved more was his family. He loved spending time at the cottage, driving his classic cars and was always up for a good joke. Wayne was known for his lovely smile and his generosity. He was the life of the party and most of the time was the one shutting the party down. 

Wayne will be dearly missed by his wife of 47 years Sharon; children Stephanie Duffy Martin (Adrian Peer) of Moncton, Michael (Jennifer Hebert), Sackville, and Erin (David) McNairn, Amherst; grandchildren Reece, Jax, Addison, Halle, Will, Ashlyn, Christian; special friends Paul MacDonald, Billy MacDonald and David Bacon. 

Wayne was predeceased by his parents.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Bowen, Pallative Care and the staff at CRHCC.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones Family Funeral Centre, 70 Church St, Amherst, NS (902-667-8777). A Funeral Mass will take place Saturday, April 30th, 2022 at 11am at the Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Amherst, NS. Livestream will be available on the church's website.

Donations in memory of Wayne may be made to the LA Animal Shelter or Cumberland Health Care Foundation.
