It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Helen Marie Logan, age 89, of Amherst, NS.  Marie passed away at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre on April 21, 2022.

Born in Truro, NS, she was a daughter of the late William and Gertrude (Fraser) Walsh.

Marie lived her younger years and attended school in Folly Lake. After high school, she completed a one year commercial course at Mount Allison. 

Prior to her retirement in 1990 she was employed with Cumberland Equipment for 14 years and Bill Casey Ford for 15 years.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Amherst. A life member of Greta Grimmer WMS and also served on the Board of Management.

Marie is survived by her daughter Susan (Bill) MacDonald of Nappan, NS; grandson John MacDonald (Moira) of Landsdown, NS; granddaughter Sarah (Devin) Duguay of Fenwick, NS; great-grandchildren Lincon and Adeline MacDonald, Austin and Bryson Duguay; stepson Stephen (Myrna) Logan of Amherst Point, NS; stepdaughters Marney (Wade) McKinnon of Mermaid, PEI and Melanie (Glenn) Rogers of Summerside, PEI; seven step grandchildren and three step-great grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband Hazen Copp, her second husband Donald Logan, grandson Derek MacDonald and brothers William and Reginald Walsh.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones Family Funeral Centre, 70 Church St, Amherst, NS (902-667-8777) where a visitation will be held Tuesday April 26, 2022 from 6pm to 8pm. A funeral service will take place Wednesday April 27, 2022 at 2pm at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Dan Green officiating. Masks are recommended for both visitation and funeral service.

Donations in memory of Marie may be made to the Canadian Diabetic Association or Palliative Care Cumberland.
