It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marion Louise (nee McIsaac) Shipley, 85, of Springhill and formerly of River Hebert, NS at the High Crest Nursing Home on Thursday, April 21, 2022.  Marion was born June 11, 1936, a daughter of the late Daniel and Irene (Symes) McIsaac.

Marion had worked at the River Hebert Co-Op for many years prior to her retirement.

She was a mother to many, a generous soul and a devoted member of the United Church and the Ladies Auxiliary.  She loved animals of all kinds, especially the neighbour's horses and her own cats, Fluffy and Orangie.  She was an avid knitter and wonderful baker.

Marion will be sadly missed by her sisters; Effie Card of River Hebert, NS, Marjorie (David) Mills of Joggins, NS, and Aldora (Bill) Bjornson of Alberta; brothers in law, Mel (Eleanor) Shipley and Reginald Shipley, both of Ontario, as well as her many beloved nieces, nephews, great, and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Charles; her brother Douglas McIsaac; her brother-in-law, Leslie Card, and her sister-in-law, Audrey.

Arrangements are under the care and supervision of the Jones Family Funeral Centre, 70 Church Street, Amherst, NS (902-667-8777).  There will be a funeral service at the funeral home for Marion on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at 2 pm.  Burial will take place in the Hillside Cemetery, River Hebert, at a later date.

At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marion's memory to the LA Animal Shelter or a charity of one's choice.

Sharing of memories and condolences may be sent to the family by visiting the online memorial at or through the Jones Family Funeral Centre Facebook Page.
