It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth Joseph Nantais, 69, of Amherst, NS, on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre.  Born in Windsor, ON, Ken was a son of the late Hillary and Virginia Nantais.

Our Dad was someone who was seen as a quiet listener but very generous and loving to those who knew him well. As a person who celebrated his sobriety for over 20 years and a tutor to many students in Amherst over the years, he was well known in the community.  

Since 2018, he became an avid traveler and he and his 2 children, and partner Julie, were able to travel and see the world, going to Iceland, Portugal, Peru, United Kingdom and Morocco which he thoroughly enjoyed and reviewed the photos from his adventures on a regular basis.

Ken will be dearly missed by his children, Jennifer Nantais, Toronto and Darrel (Jane Logan) Nantais, Scarborough, ON; his common law partner, Julie Lines, Amherst; his brothers and sisters, Donna Marie (Gerald) Wellings.  Raymond (Helen) Nantais.  Christopher (Sherry) Nantais.   Darlene (Eriks) Ekmanis.   Joel Nantais. Denise Markle and John Raskovsky.  Diana Webster and Kent Gulosh. as well as several nieces and nephews.

Ken was predeceased by his parents.

Arrangements are under the care and supervision of the Jones Family Funeral Centre, 70 Church Street, Amherst, NS (902-667-8777).  Honouring Ken's wishes, cremation has taken place and there are to be no services at this time.

Donations in memory of Ken may be made to Cumberland Mental Health and Addiction Services.
