It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of James Brown, age 65, of Amherst, NS.  James passed away suddenly at home on Tuesday, September 7, 2021.

Born in Lower Cove, NS he was the son of the late William "Sonny" and Beulah (Dow) Brown.

James was a kind hearted man who loved to dance, fish, camp, and sit on the deck watching the birds.  He enjoyed being down at the family cottage and spending time on the beach looking for beach glass.  He was always looking to help someone out and offered a hand to anyone who needed it.  James loved to talk and tell stories and spend time with family and friends.

He will be dearly missed by his wife Charlene (Stevens), Amherst; children; Jamie Brown (Dan MacSwain), Amherst, Lacey Palmer, Canning, NS and Sunni McEachern (Brad Brown), Halifax; Jeremy (Patsy) Stevens; grandchildren Courtney Brown, Emma Gould, Mia and Cruz Palmer, Landen and Chasse McEachern, Violet, Ashlynn, Ryland and Colton Stevens and 4 great grandchildren Daneeka, Dyson, Tryce, and Braxton; brothers Steward (Tammy), Joggins and Lawrence (Andrea), Lower Cove and sister; Pam Brown, Springhill; father in law Wilfred LeBlanc, River Hebert; brother in law Rod (Keely Lutz) Stevens and sister in law Brenda (Dale) Porter; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by son James Joseph; son-in-law Cory Palmer; mother in law Joyce LeBlanc.

Arrangements are under the care and guidance of Jones Family Funeral Centre, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS, (902-667-8777).  A public visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, September 10 from 7 to 9 pm.  Following the visitation, cremation will take place.  A Celebration of Life will be held at the River Hebert Royal Canadian Legion on Sunday, September 19th from 1:00pm-3:00pm.
