It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Lois Margaret Smith, age 72, of Amherst Head, NS.  Lois passed away at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, September 6, 2021.

Born in Amherst, NS, she was a daughter of the late Eldon and Ruby (Harrison) Smith.

Lois was an avid dart player, enjoying many tournaments over the years, and was always a big fan of Yahtzee.  She loved her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by longtime companion Henry Cormier, sons Ricky and Wade Smith, all of Amherst Head; 3 grandchildren, Justin, Emma and Chloe; great grandchildren Bella and Jace; siblings Diane Smith (Bill), Billy (Dot), David, Dougie, Donnie (Tina), Vicki Perry (Junior), and Sandy Smith, all of Amherst; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Donnie Smith and sisters Evelyn Landry and Cheryl Smith and  brother Ricky Smith.

Arrangements are entrusted to Jones Family Funeral Centre, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777) where an Afternoon of Remembrance will be held on Friday, September 10, from 2 to 4 pm.  All are invited to attend.  In keeping with COVID Protocol, please wear a mask.  Burial will take place in the Amherst Head Cemetery at a later date.

Donations in memory of Lois may be made to the Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice.
