It is with sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Geneva Mae Newcombe, 80, of Amherst, NS, on Sunday, September 5, 2021 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre.  Born in Johnson's Mills, NB, Geneva was a daughter of the late Earl and Helen (nee McFadden) Sears.

Geneva grew up in Sackville, Amherst and Tyndal Road.  She was a hard worker, and never a woman to sit still very long except when playing cards.  Geneva loved fishing and clamming; she enjoyed a beer and lobster, country music, dancing and socializing.  Our mother was very kind hearted and was a friend to many, young and old.  In her younger years she loved to skate and won several competitions in Amherst.

Now we must say goodbye to a true original. Thank you for a lifetime of memories

Geneva was the last surviving member of her immediate family.  She was an only child, and the apple of her daddy's eye.  She will be dearly missed by two daughters, Dawn Charmaine Sherriff, and Glenna Mae Cole; six grandchildren, Gregory, Jonathan, Michael, Brondel, Kayla, and Ethan; as well as eight great grandchildren, Stephanie, Elizabeth, Gavin, Nova, Josephine, Austin, Derica, and Kaiser.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Donald Tuttle, her second husband, Austin Estabrooks, and her third husband, Carl Newcombe, as well as an infant granddaughter, Isabelle Cole.

Arrangements are under the care and supervision of the Jones Family Funeral Centre, 70 Church Street, Amherst (902-667-8777).  Honouring Geneva's wishes, cremation has taken place.  There are to be no visitations or services.  Geneva's ashes will be interred in the Springhill Junction Cemetery alongside her family.

Donations in memory of Geneva may be made to the CNIB or a charity of the donor's choice.

Sharing of memories and condolences may be sent to the family by visiting the online memorial at www.jonesfamilyfuneralcentre.ca or through the Jones Family Funeral Centre Facebook Page.
