It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our
sister, Nancy Marlene O'Keefe, 63, of
Pugwash, and formerly of Amherst. Nancy passed away at the
Sunset Adult Residential Centre in Pugwash on Saturday, January 9,
2021. Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of the late
William and Pauline (Gould) O'Keefe
Nancy enjoyed music and dancing with a passion. She
loved crafts and spending time with family and friends and getting and
giving hugs. She was much loved and will be remembered for
her warm smile.
Nancy will be dearly missed by her sisters, Darlene (Jack)
Harrison, Amherst, Marilyn O'Keefe, Amherst, Brenda O'Keefe and
partner Tony Arsenault, Saint John and Rose O'Keefe, Amherst; Aunt
Amelia LeBlanc, Amherst; Uncle Donnie (Kay) Gould, North Carolina,
along with many nephews, nieces, and extended family.
Besides her parents, Nancy was predeceased by her
grandparents, Jack Gould, Nappan and Flossie Amon, River Hebert; her
sister, Debbie O'Keefe, Amherst; her uncle, Leonard LeBlanc, Amherst,
and a baby brother, known only to God.
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to
Nancy's extended family, the staff of Sunset Adult Residential Centre,
for their exceptional kindness and care.
Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the
Jones Family Funeral Centre, 70 Church
Street, Amherst (902-667-8777). Due to recent restrictions
surrounding Covid-19, there will be no visitation.
A funeral service will be held from the First Baptist
Church, Amherst, on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 2pm.
Pre-registration is recommended, please call the funeral
home to do so. Please bring your masks and
respect social distancing protocols.
Donations in memory of Nancy may be made to a charity of the
donor's choice.
