It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Shiela Darragh from Linden, NS, on Monday December 28, 2020.  Born in Amherst, Shiela was the daughter of the late Frank and Mabel (Brooks) Chapman.  

Shiela spent her life raising her children, working on the farm and later in life working as a PCW at East Cumberland Lodge.  She then retired to continue taking care of her family that continued to grow right up to six days before her death.  She enjoyed helping on the farm, driving the side by side to check on the cows, visiting family and holding the new born babies.  When she came to visit she always had some kind of care package for you

Shiela will be sadly missed by five sons,  Austin (Anita), Dale (Wanda), Steven (Sue), Jeffery (Rhonda), and Derek (Vicki); four daughters, Sharon (George), Gail (David),  Joy (Charles), and Trudy (Wesley); 30 grandchildren, 59 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren, as well as her remaining brother, George (Bernice) Chapman.  

Besides her parents, Shiela was predeceased by her husband, Pat; her infant daughter Connie; her brother Phillip Chapman, and her sister Hilda chapman.  

Arrangements are in the care of W. Allen Funeral Home, 60 Water Street, Oxford, NS (902-447-2167).  A private family funeral service will take place on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 2 pm. The service will be held at the Jones Family Funeral Centre in Amherst (70 Church Street). Due to Covid-19 restrictions, this service will be limited to invited family only.  For those unable to attend, the service will be available for viewing live from the funeral home website or on-demand after.
