It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Frederick Merlin Ripley, 74, at his home in Chignecto, NS, on Sunday, November 15, 2020.  Born May 7, 1946, Fred was a son of the late David and Lillian Ripley.

Fred had worked as a welder/fitter for almost 45 years with Robb Engineering.  He enjoyed hunting and spending time outdoors in the hot sun.  He loved listening to country music of all kinds, and playing cards with family and friends.  With the exception of attending yard sales, Fred was a homebody and very much enjoyed his personal time at home.

Fred will be dearly missed by his wife of 51 years, Sandra (nee Oickle), Chignecto, NS; his children, Brenda (Dwayne) Cormier, Lower Maccan, NS, Joey (Darlene) Ripley, Amherst, NS, Nancy (Jim) Walsh, Amherst, NS, Jason Ripley, Chignecto, NS, and Cathy Ripley, Oshawa, ON; fourteen grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; a brother, William Ripley, of Truro, NS, as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Besides his parents, Fred was predeceased by a grandson, Cody; his brothers, Junior, Warren and Ronnie.

Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the Jones Family Funeral Centre, 70 Church Street, Amherst, NS (902-667-8777).  A private, by-invitation service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at 1 pm with burial to follow in the Fenwick Cemetery.  Those who wish, may view the service through live-streaming through Fred's memorial page on the funeral home website.  Pastor Paul Parks presiding.
