It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Leslie Stewart Dow, age 91, of Nappan.  Leslie passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre.

Born in Athol, NS, he was a son of the late Stewart and Janie (Cotton) Dow.

Leslie worked for 32 years as an operator at the Experimental Farm, Nappan.  He loved tending his oxen and horses on his hobby farm, and was an active member of the Chignecto Wagon Train Association.  

He will be dearly missed by his children Brenda (Jordan) Mitchell, Nappan, NS, Ruth Dow (Shayne Speight), Amherst, NS and Clair Dow(Bobbie-Jo Matthews), Riverside-Albert, NB; 6 grandchildren Michael, Sharon, Brenda, Leslie, Samantha and Colby; 10 great grandchildren; siblings Viola Gilbert, Athol, NS, Frank Dow, Amherst, Laura (Donnie) Brown, Lower Cover, NS, Carmen (Barb) Dow, Oshawa, ON and David (Rachael) Dow, Amherst; and his special dog and best friend Cindy.

He is predeceased by his wife Florence (Kempt) Dow, sons Stewart and Gordon; siblings Bessie Dow, Leona Lowther, Ella McIver, William Dow, and Beulah Brown.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS.(902-667-8777) where visitation will take place on Saturday, September 29, 2018 from noon until 2 pm, followed immediately at 2 pm by his funeral service, William Drysdale, DLM officiating.  Burial will take place in Athol Cemetery following the reception.
