M. K. Emma Rolfe
It is with deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Mary Katherine Emma Rolfe, age 97, of Amherst. Emma passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2020 with family by her side at Gables Lodge.
Born in Upper Aboujaghan, NB, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Crescente (Bourque) Cormier.
Emma was a member of the Holy Family Parish, as well as the CWL. She enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. A 5 generation family, she loved spending time with everyone, especially her grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters Kay (Earl) Carter, Point De Bute, NB, Lillian (Greg) Gonnella, Hartland, NB, Hilda (Don) Rayworth, Amherst, NS; sons Billy (Debbie), Maccan, Joseph (Janet), Amherst; 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; sisters Lydia Landry, Sackville, Lillian (Fred) Bourque, Ontario, Mary Louise Cormier, Ontario, Sarah Reynolds, Moncton, NB, Bella Melanson, Cap-Pele, NB, several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by special friend Corby Dowe, daughter Betty Rolfe; sons Gerald, Norman, Allan and Gill, granddaughter Tammy, 3 brothers, Julien, Arstead and Joe; sister Doris LeBlanc.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Jones Family Funeral Centre, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777) where visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm on Friday, March 6, 2020, with Parish Prayers taking place at 7:30 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 11 am, Deacon Howard Gotell officiating. Burial will take place in the United Cemetery in Parrsboro at a later date.
Emma's family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to everyone at Gables who helped care for her during her stay there.
