Simonne Marie (Goguen) Waye, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away suddenly on August 2, 2019.

She was born in Cap-Pelé in 1947.  At sixteen, she moved to Sackville, NB before settling in Amherst, NS, her home for 47 years. 

We celebrate our mother as she borne an enormous responsibility to ensure her sons securaty at a time when her family structure was not the accepted norm.  She was an accomplished hostess, who understood that quality was of the utmost importance and was well known for going above and beyond for the thousands she served during her career.  Her colorful language and unapologetic sense of humour treated all who knew her to a shared laugh and interesting story.  She was an original.

Her passing will leave a void within her sons Shawn and Peter; grandson Lucas; sister Linda; brothers Gerard, Lloyd, Roger, Ronald, Michel and David; and her best friend Betty Lou.

She was predeceased by her father, Guillaume Goguen, mother Marianne LeBlanc, sister Shirley, brothers Guillaume, Paul and infant Claude.

By her request, there will not be a service or visitation and her committal will take place in the early fall at the St. Theresa D'Avilla Cemetery in Cap-Pelé, NB.
