Mary Wiseman Carter passed away peacefully at the age of 106 in Amherst, NS on Jun 29, 2019. 

Predeceased by her son, William (Bill, 1997) and husband, Harry (2005), Mary is survived by her sons: George (Toronto), David (Vancouver); daughter-in-law, Elaine (Nanaimo); grandchildren: Bill (Jean), Dawn (Jacques), Janet (Chris) & families (Nanaimo).

Mary was born in Parrsboro on Sep 4, 1912 to Frank & Rhodora Brown & grew up in Brookdale. 

Mary married Harry Carter in 1932, and shortly following, moved to Amherst, where they raised their family. She enjoyed spending time with family & friends, summers at the cottage on the beach, drives in the countryside, travel (Europe, North America), weekly ladies bridge games, and sharing stories of the olden days with great passion and detail. 

Mary was a lifelong active member of Christ Church (Amherst) and the Anglican Church Women (ACW) group. 

We have been blessed by Mary’s long, long life and she will be truly missed.

Arrangements are under the care and supervision of the Jones Family Funeral Centre, 70 Church Street, Amherst, NS (902-667-8777).  There is to be no service or visitation at the family's request.  A private family service will be held at a later date.
