Inez Marion Moore
Inez Marion (Webster) Moore passed away on June 1st, 2019. Born in Pugwash in 1938, she was the daughter of the late Marion Russell (VanBuskirk) Webster and Harry Webster.
Mum lived her life caring for her family. She loved flowers and always had a garden. She was a private person and chose to live her life in a quiet way. She was Scottish by heritage and married to an Irishman for 64 years. She was both modern and old school at the same time. She was thoughtful and generous, stubborn and opinionated, and you wouldn’t want to enter a challenge of wits or sarcasm unless she was on your side. She passed away just when the Indian Plums came into bloom, an event that always brought her back to her roots.
She spent years passionately researching and recording volumes of family history and became a resource for many others (related and not) in search of information. She was a constant recorder of life’s events as long as any of us can remember. Many kitchen table debates would be settled when Ma was sent for ‘the book’ that held all of those details of our lives. Her life inspired us to be our best and do our best, and we would not be who or where we are without her.
She loved her family dearly, her grandchildren and pets Ceilidh and Caper more than that, and her great-grandchildren most of all. She is survived by her husband Andy, children Marion (Richard), Harry (Joe), Dana (Ann), James (Shelly) and Gordon, grandchildren, Ashley (Aaron), Mia (Jon), Cassandra (Kent), Emily, and Wylie. Her great- grandchildren Rowan, Ruby, Mitchell and Fletcher were her absolute pride and joy. She is also survived by her sister Beth, brother-in-law Don Logan (Marie), sisters-in-law Gerry Crockett and Edith (John) Weeks, many nieces and nephews and a wide circle of extended family and friends.
The family would like to thank her doctors and medical support people over the past few months: Dr. Kris Bienkowski, Dr. Andrea Faryniuk, Dr. Mohammed Harb, Gillian at Continuing Care, the VON nursing team, and to Dr. Keith Short, Kim and Amy who were a constant source of guidance, compassion and understanding.
The family is especially grateful to the nursing staff at North Cumberland Memorial Hospital where Mum spent her last few days. Your kindness and compassion to both Mum and the family were simply extraordinary, making the end of her journey entirely the experience she had hoped for.
A private family service will be held on Wednesday June 5th, 2019. A gathering of family and friends will be held in Pugwash at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of The Jones Family Funeral Centre, Amherst, NS.
In lieu of flowers for those wishing to honour her life, memorial donations may be made to the Palliative Care Fund, Cumberland Health Care Foundation or the North Cumberland Community Health Foundation or the charity of one’s choice.
